Spin on Invites

Wedding invitations are looking more and more fabulous now a days and more and more unique. It is totally posh to have your wording all on the bottom, using three different fonts, with bold colors, and thematic graphics. I think having a fun invitation sets the tone for your wedding and gives an insight to your personality and theme. Have fun with it!

I've seen so many different invitation styles on the blogs so I had to go check them out and share them with you. I decided to share some of my faves from minted.com (pictures above) and some designers found on etsy.com.

I love these etsy designers because they are also budget friendly. A count of 100 invites averages about $300-350. Another thing about etsy is that you are more likely to find designers who can custom make something for you that is more in your price bracket or custom make additional wedding suite pieces.

DIY Favors: Ice cream in jar!!

I just had to share this favor idea with everyone. I am a big...a HUGE...ice cream lover so when I saw this diy favor idea...I went nuts. This is a great idea for all the summer weddings out there and very unique. As a guest I would love to take one of these home and try this little treat...Do you remember doing this in your science camps when you were kids?!

I didn't show all the step by step pictures because I am hoping you trot over to Style me pretty to take a look at the article. But here are the instructions.

Materials:

Downloads (See the Style me pretty blog for the downloads)

Printer

Glass mason Jar

Ribbon

Small zip-lock plastic bags

half & half individual packets

Rock salt

sugar & vanilla powder

**The guest will only have to add ice!**

Instructions:

1) print out the labels for your jars, cutout and personalize the side label to say what you would like to your guests

2) Pour 1 cup rock salt into the bottom of each jar

3) Pour 1 tablespoon sugar & 1 teaspoon vanilla powder into a small (quart size) zip-lock bag and seal

4) combine the bag of powder and 8 of the half and half packets in each jar

5) tie on your front label with twine

6) tie on your side labels with ribbon for your guests

I plan to post planning tips, inspiration boards, color palate ideas, real weddings, personal experiences in my planning and ...pictures pictures pictures!!

A very pretty cake I may add. I love the peony detailing on the side. If you are on a budget but love peonies...a similar cake would be just as elegant if it was all white with the pearl trim, with the peonies blossoming at the top.

Wedding Wednesday: Dreamy dresses and Wishing trees

I absolutely love wishing trees as a wedding detail. You can glam it up with crystals or make a more playful colorful type. Either way, Its a great way to have your guests write you something special and is a unique alternative to a guest book. We plan on having one at the wedding, just need to get the rest of my supplies. Another alternative to the tree is to have a wish bowl. you can have them write their message or wish on a piece of special stationary and have them drop into a nice bowl or hurricane glass.

Aren't these dresses dreamy? I have mine already but I still love looking at all the frills and drama that come out of these new collections. Tulle, Frill, and ruffles are all the rage now.....and why wouldn't it be...its your wedding...the perfect time to be a girly girl or a show stopper (minus the diva attitude though).

If you are still looking for a wedding dress, don't be afraid to be daring and add an element of drama or unexpectedness to your wedding dress. Have fun with it and still be beautiful! Go ahead and try that mermaid style or one shoulder, or that empire cut.....multi layered??? or super poofy?? Why not?? you cant rule it out until you try it on....you never know, you may end up with something you totally didn't expect.

100 days

Last night at around 2:00 in the morning, daniel woke me up and said..."babe, in 100 days we're getting married!"

It feels like just yesterday when we got engaged and my-oh-my have the two years passed very quickly....It has deffinately been the greatest.

We can't wait!

Wedding Wednesday: embroidered invite

Embroidered wedding invite suite....Looooove!

Created by Anna Bond of Rifle Made, for a couple: Avi & Kate. Apparently she sewed the design onto the card and then painted the top of the stitches then scanned for printing. This is probably one of the coolest invite suites I have seen to date. Its so fun, original yet whimsy and romantic all at the same time.
