"Hello Gorgeous!!" love the dress right? It is so "mad-men-esque"....so of course i was totally swooning over it.

Leslie of Green Vintage Photography shot these engagement photos for Stephanie (also of green vintage photography) & Erik in Sacramento, CA (woo-hoo)... you will notice the capitol building in the last photo. They did an amazing job. The vibe and feel of the whole shoot is awesome!!




This dress was Stephanie's mother's wedding dress. She wore it in 1971 and Stephanie had it altered to a micro mini length...and viola! total vintage dress gorgeousness!! The sleeves, the lace detail on the top & neckline...*sigh* now this is how you wear "your mom's wedding dress"

Colorful Pallete: Jungle inspired

Don't you love all these colors!!? Its so fresh and vibrant. A Modern Jungle inspired event! I was inspired by this color palette and inspiration board made from Zenadia Designs and decided to make an inspiration board of my own. This was probably one the funnest ones I have done because you can get really creative with it. My fav part was incorporating some of my favorite patterns like Ikat and trellis patterns....which i love to use in my home.

You can incorporate all these little details like subtle leopard prints, bamboo accents, ferns & palms and wear fun statement pieces and accessories like the turquoise feather necklace or gi-normous hair flower pictured below. you can show off, patterned linens, vibrant colored glass on your table scapes, breezy, flowy dresses, tropical flowers of every vibrant color, safari details....shall I keep going?

Color of the Year: Honeysuckle

Well Pantone announced their 2011 color of the year a few weeks ago. Its Pantone 18-2120....also known as...Honeysuckle!!

Its a shade of pink that has just enough brightness and just enough softness to it. The above color schemes shared by Erin Gate from Elements of Style, showcase the versatility of honeysuckle...and although she may have been alluding to interior design and style...I think that her combos also make excellent wedding color palletes. Here are a couple of combos that I chose to make simple inspiration boards out of. Cant find the exact shade for every detail in your wedding? Go ahead and mix it up with different and similar shades. Its a great way to add texture to your event =)

Today I was dying to feature these two cakes that I stumbled upon in the past couple days....All this loveliness is hard to handle so I had to share it somehow!!

Both were spotted on "Style Me Pretty" which is no surprise. These two cakes definitely stole my attention. They are so simple, and original and who doesn't like teal coral accents and letterpress style typography?!

Today's post is in celebration of the birth of my new nephew...Samuel! My wonderful Cousin Liana and her husband GP welcomed in the cute baby boy earlier this afternoon.

I know baby Samuel is too young to be in any weddings any time soon but it made me think of all the cute little ones that grace our weddings.

They add such character, vibrancy, and youth to a wedding. They also serve as another way to add in personal touches to your day. Be creative with how you want your children attendant to be dressed. Let them wear their cute kiddy shoes and sneakers with their tux or paper crowns on their heads

I love bold headbands, or flowers in the hair and different takes on the ring bearer pillow and flower basket. Try incorporating your theme by using something untraditional like ribbon wands or a banner/sign,

You don't have to go with a typical dress and mini tux. I've been seeing a lot of tu-tu's, fairy outfits, suspenders, newsboy hats. Make it fun for them!!
